The Band Toto Asia
Toto was expanding its production facilities overseas and was doing business in France, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and the People's Republic of China. North America was seen as an area of growth for bidet and washlet toilet seats, as opposed its "base" markets in Japan and China.
Dhaniram Toto documented Toto words to ensure that the future generation could understand them. However, many words were replaced with foreign words, such as dui, which is Bengali for verandah.
Origins
Toto's early history that began in 1917, was a reflection of Japan's rapid economic expansion. In the first half of its existence, the company produced products to meet the demands of modern, contemporary urban housing. It had the first tunnel kiln in the nation that could produce ceramics continuously. It also pioneered the use of automation to control production, which allows for greater efficiency and consistency.
The company began expanding internationally in the late 1980s in order to benefit from new markets and sales opportunities. It launched the Cera Trading Company, importing and marketing other products from other manufacturers to complement its own range of sanitary earthenware and plumbing fittings. This strategy boosted sales and expanded the firm's global market share.
By the 1990s, Toto had shifted its focus on research and development for household appliances that are water-related. It also upgraded its system of distribution to better serve customers and increase profit. The company adopted a just-in-time approach to supply chain management, and it used the same approach in its sales program. This resulted in a higher level of satisfaction of customers.
Toto has continued to innovate in the toilet technology. The latest toilet, for instance, has a powerful tornado flush that is more environmentally friendly than conventional toilets. The company also makes use of recycled water in its manufacturing process and has a green procurement policy. Toto also produces bathtubs, faucets, and hand dryers with greater energy efficiency than standard models.
The first Toto museum opened in the year 2015. It hosts exhibits on the most iconic products of Toto as well as their evolution, group companies (all of which are made from ceramics), the history of plumbing and other products like bath units. In an additional gallery, you will find Toto products that are sold across the world. The museum also includes a bathroom with a WASHLET toilet and other toilet-related innovations.
Before forming Toto members of the group did session work for various musicians. Keyboardist David Paich, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarists Mike Porcaro and Steve Lukather all performed on the album Silk Degrees by Boz Scaggs. They also performed on albums by Steely Don, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.
Discography
You would expect a group with a name such as Asia to be a prog rock group, but it is actually a relatively straightforward rock band. The band began as a four-piece and released two albums: 1979's self-titled debut and 1980's Armed to the Teeth. However, even though the group have a variety of musical backgrounds their biggest hit came in 1982 with Toto IV.
The album was a huge blockbuster, but not without difficulties. The record companies placed Toto under pressure to deliver an album that was a success or 안전놀이터 순위 (To-Topia.Com) else they would pull them. Luckily for Toto, they did with the help of the smash hit single "Africa."
Toto's musical mastery is due to their previous experiences since the members were session musicians for artists such as Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, and Seals and Crofts prior the group. Their sonic trademark has become the standard for 1980s music, and has inspired a lot of contemporary artists.
The album opens up hard with songs like Running Out of Time or Unknown Soldier that show the band's ability to write great AOR tunes that slowly creep into your head. However, the album also includes some more mellow, jazzy tracks such as The Little Things and Chinatown. The album closes with Great Expectations. This song is a mix of folk and the distorted AOR which could appear completely unnatural, but actually works extremely well.
After Toto IV the band's fortunes began to decline. David Hungate left the band to focus on his solo career. The band was dominated by drummers. In 1984, Bobby Kimball was fired from the band in the wake of drug charges and the band continued as a trio, which included Michael Porcaro and Steve Lukather.
Despite the turmoil, Toto forged ahead and released Isolation that was not as successful as IV. The group managed to release an album that topped the charts, Kingdom of Desire, in 1992. This album marked the conclusion of the original Toto lineup and was also the first to feature a new singer, Simon Phillips.

It was a more ferocious, consistent effort that had an edge that was more pronounced than Hydra. The more experimental sound of Turn Back reflected the maturation in the group. The drummer Bobby Kimball's increasing ability to play was evident in the vocal delivery of Joseph Williams, who had grown more confident and mature. David Paich's keyboard skills were also sharper, more complex and less akin to previous efforts.
After touring to promote the album, the band recorded a live show in Amsterdam which was released as a set of two CDs called Falling In Between Live on Eagle Records. The group released a brand new studio album a few months later and then embarked on a world tour to support it. During this time keyboardist Greg Phillinganes filled in for Paich, and bassist David Hungate left the group to spend more time with his family.
In 1998, Paich & Lukather began exploring old tapes and demos to discover songs that had never been recorded before. The album was released in the form of a double-album called Then and Now in 2001.
